Children almost without exception and many adult have the habit of putting their fingers mouths. It is almost impossible to stop children from doing this but an effort should always be made. The hands and the finger nails touch so many places that are dirty and thus become heavily
infected with bacteria of all sorts. Putting the fingers into the mouth provide easy transport for these germs into the body where they find a warm, moist place to grow. Children need to be guarded against this danger.

Vegetables grown in such places or fertilized with night-soil are not safe to eat unless they are cooked. Salads and any other raw foods need to b washed very well in soapy water before they are eaten. There is no benefit in putting potassium pamanganate in the water. The best procedure is to immerse them in strongly chlorinated for half an hour.
It is best to wash tubes such as carrots, radishes and turnips and then peel them. In restaurant only foods that is cooked should be eaten, and then only when it is still fresh and hot.
The same rules should be followed in respect to fruits. They must also be washed and peeled before been eaten raw. Food handlers may be Carriers of typhoid, amoeba or some other form of disease. From their hands germs are transferred to the fruits. Take no chances. Water also is a fruitful source of infection. To be really safe it should be boiled, filtered or chlorinated.
