1. Lower the patient to the ground, take away all sharp and hard objects near the patient to prevent the patient from injuring him/herself.

Do not restrain or hold him down during the convulsion.
3. Without using undue force, insert a piece of cloth or towel between the teeth to prevent him/her from biting the tongue. NOTE, don't use spoons or hard objects.
4. Don't wake the patient up from sleep after the convulsion has stopped.
5. Take the patient to the hospital when he wakes up. NOTE.. Don't attempt to treat the patient any other place apart from the hospital.
Treatment
epilepsy is the main disease and confusion is its feature and not every convulsion is due to epilepsy, unless it rescuers. Epilepsy can not be cured permanently, but convulsion can be stopped from occurring using drugs. The patient must attend hospital as asked by the doctor and take his drugs regularly.
